Dentures
Restore your smile with dentures from All Smile Care. These are a widely-used replacement for missing teeth. Dentures are made of replacement teeth attached to a gum-colored base. Modern dental technology allows us to make dentures much more comfortable and natural-looking.
Dentures are custom made in a dental laboratory according to a patient’s needs. Traditional full dentures are used when all or most of a patient’s teeth are missing. Any remaining natural teeth need to be removed prior to the installation of full dentures. Partial dentures are used when only some teeth are missing. Partial dentures contain an acrylic base of the same color as your gums, and they not only complete your smile, but also keep the remaining natural teeth from shifting out of place.
It may take some time for you to get used to your dentures. You will need a little practice for a few weeks to get used to speaking, eating and breathing with your dentures on. It is also very common for dentures to cause excessive saliva flow and soreness or irritation for some time; however, if you experience any unusual symptoms and uncontrolled irritability, please contact our office immediately.
Denture Stabilization
Denture stabilization involves fixing your dentures using a small number of mini-implants. This prevents dentures from slipping or moving inside the mouth while eating, speaking and smiling. The procedure only takes about an hour and can be performed under the effect of a local anesthetic.
Caring for your dentures:
- Remove and rinse your dentures after eating
- Brush and rinse your mouth after removing your dentures using a soft-bristled toothbrush
- Soak your dentures in water or a soaking solution while they are not in use
- Brush your dentures daily
- If you feel that your dentures have loosened or broken, contact our office. Do not try to repair them yourself.
