Snap-in dentures (also called implant-retained overdentures) attach to a few strategically placed implants using precision connectors. The denture “snaps” onto the implants, resisting movement during chewing and speech, yet removes easily for cleaning. This hybrid approach offers a dramatic stability boost while staying more affordable than full-arch fixed bridges.
Lower dentures often feel least stable; two implants can make a big difference, while four implants increase retention and balance. Upper dentures may use more implants or a palateless design for improved taste and comfort. We’ll use 3D imaging to propose the number and positions that fit your anatomy, goals, and budget.
You’ll feel noticeably more secure when speaking and chewing. Removing the denture for cleaning keeps tissues healthy and odors minimal. Because components wear gradually, expect occasional insert replacements—fast, affordable visits that preserve retention and comfort.
Snap-ins are removable and typically more budget-friendly; All-on-4 is fixed and feels closest to natural teeth. Many patients start with overdentures to regain comfort quickly, then transition to fixed later. We’ll map a phased path if that’s your long-term vision.
Overdentures often cost less upfront than full fixed bridges because they use fewer implants and simpler frameworks. With proper home care and periodic maintenance, they deliver reliable, day-to-day performance for years.
Most healthy adults qualify. If you smoke or have uncontrolled diabetes, we’ll coordinate strategies to support healing. Bone grafting is sometimes recommended for ideal implant positioning; angled placements can also help when bone is limited.
